Our third generation property called Te Rangi is located in Northern Hawkes Bay and has been in Heays family for over one hundred years. The station is well known for its spectacular scenery and for the work done by Murray Heays to develop and pioneer the deer and velvet industries.
The decision to sell a property like this was certainly not an easy or unanimous one. Tony Rasmussen won the listing for two main reasons. First his detailed and factual proposal proved that he’d done his homework. Secondly the Bayleys brand and impressive sales network in support was compelling. Success however would require that Tony work closely with the Public Trustee as the vendor and that he also balance the competing interests and opinions of beneficiaries spread across four families in two countries.
Tony certainly had his work cut out managing this while keeping the process on track. This was where his abilities really shone through. He put in long hours. His people and communication skills were excellent. We believe his experience and knowledge of rural banking coupled with his strong belief in the X factor of the property really helped to sell Te Rangi. Tenders went right down to the wire but in the end Tony delivered it all...the right market, the right buyer at the right price which is a great achievement in the currently tight rural farm lending market.
